"VERIFYING CHECKSUM" - DOES "OK" MEAN NO MALWARE ON OS?
When I reboot the desktop, I see the text right before the kernel starts, and the last thing it says is "verifying checksum.....ok".
In the past I would ask a security expert to look and see if my OS had malware permanently placed on it. Instead of asking them to check it, as I am not advanced enough, does the "VERIFYING CHECKSUM...OK" - mean no malware on the OS?

In general, knowing for sure that there's no malware on a system might not be possible or require an inordinate amount of work. Are you willing to pay a security expert for a complete forensic analysis of your orange pi which might take days or weeks?

This is very likely only a checksum of the kernel or ramdisk image. Malware could be present in other parts of your system which are not checksummed, so basically, no, this message does not mean that your system is malware-free.
Thanks. Well, when the OS has malware placed on it, isn't the kernel automatically affected; in other words, isn't the OS within or on the kernel? Thanks again.
