So, I did blacklist my Lacie 2TB external HDD from UAS with:
# echo options usb-storage quirks=059f:1090:u | tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_uas.conf
Updated initramfs
and rebooted.
During the boot, I heard the external HDD spinning up 3 times, which I don't think is good for health of the drive. My current dmesg
output, the relevant parts only, cut into 3 parts:

[Wed Sep 18 03:28:21 2019] sd 2:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI disk
Finally, let me be clear on that the drive only spins up 3 times during boot, not when connecting it after boot.
Kernel: 4.15.0-62
, I did not try other kernels just yet.
Is there a way to prevent those spin-ups?
Interestingly, with kernel 4.19.0-6-amd64
on a completely different machine, this does not happen...

Just like in this question:
Connection problem with USB3 external storage on Linux (UAS driver problem)
dmesg
reports too many errors like (excerpt from that question):
[ 68.856381] scsi host6: uas_eh_bus_reset_handler start

So, I did blacklist my Lacie 2TB external HDD from UAS with:
# echo options usb-storage quirks=059f:1090:u | tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_uas.conf
Updated initramfs
and rebooted.
During the boot, I heard the external HDD spinning up 3 times, which I don't think is good for health of the drive. My current dmesg
output, the relevant parts only, cut into 3 parts:
# dmesg --human --color=always --ctime | grep -ie sd -ie uas
