I followed the steps on debian's website to upgrade from the stable to testing release and after doing so and rebooting, I am faced with an empty login screen. The screen is not black. It looks like the default screen with the grainy background but there is no users. I have tried to boot into recovery but that boots into the same thing. Any ideas. I have a Nvidia gnu and Intel cpu if that helps.
I have also thought about just installing the new version of Debian and just copying my files over as I can access the older version of Debian cli with grub under advanced options, which I would prefer not doing if there is an alternative
