I'm having trouble updating the firmware on my Samsung 840 SSD drive.

All the info I can find seems to date back to 2014/2015 and they link to an ISO image to do the update, but that link doesn't work any more. Now all I can find on Samsung's website is an ISO for Mac and a .zip file (presumably "for non Macs") which only contains the actual firmware (more specifically, it contains just dsrd.enc and dxt08b0q.enc but no actual software to install the firmware).

I also tried the "old magician" code from Arch Linux mentioned in Update Firmware of Samsung 840 Pro, but when I run magician -L it tells me:

================================================================================================
Samsung(R) SSD Magician DC Version 1.0
Copyright (c) 2014 Samsung Corporation
================================================================================================
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| Disk | Model | Serial | Firmware | Capacity | Drive | Total Bytes |
| Number | | Number | | | Health | Written |
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
No Samsung SSD found!

On Samsung's webpage, the firmware for the 830 still comes as an ISO, so I tried to use this and replace the dsrd.enc file with the one from the zip file for the 840, but when I booted this image, while FreeDOS started fine, the dsrd1_0.exe executable it auto-started immediately gave me an error (couldn't copy&paste it, but it seemed to be an access violation or something like that).

Any idea where I could find an ISO to update the 840 (non-EVO, non-PRO, just 840)? Or maybe why "magician" can't find my drive?
