I'm trying to make run optimus manager on a MSI GP62MVR 7RFX
Some relevant parameters:
- Distro: Arch Linux
- Kernel version: 5.3.1-arch1-1-ARCH
- NVIDIA Driver version: 435.21
- Desktop environment/display manager: GNOME/GDM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 (6GB)
- Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7300HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz
Driver is installed successfully and running. The problem comes when I try to save power using optimus manager, which is a package to switch between NVIDIA and Intel, and trying to boot with INTEL (which disables NVIDIA)
I'm following this guide: https://github.com/Askannz/optimus-manager/wiki/A-guide--to-power-management-options
When I try to use Nouveau option of above link, GDM display is shown (I can log in), but when log in, the computer power offs
When I try other options shown in the link, the computer doesn't show log in screen and gets freezed. (I can't change TTY console)
As sugested in the link, I tried to add this kernel parameter: acpi_osi=! acpi_osi='Windows 2013'
I don't know how to collect log info
I hope you can help me, thanks
