I'm running Linux Mint 19 and I used to JDK 1.8, I fully uninstalled openjdk 8 and installed OpenJDK 11. I noticed that $JAVA_HOME is still set to /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-amd64, I edited /etc/environment and added the following to it
JAVA_HOME="/usr/lib/jvm/java-11-openjdk-amd64"
export JAVA_HOME
when I reload /etc/environment by the following command
. /etc/environment
JAVA_HOME gets set to OpenJDK 11, but on reboot it gets set to JDK 8 again. Maybe it's something that runs after /etc/environment that sets it to 8?
How can I find out what is causing this issue?
