I had a bunch of text files that were written as sl3rk000001.txt, sl3rk000002.txt, ... etc. And I had a folder called sl3rk15. I wanted to move all those files into that folder, so I typed
mv sl3rk* sl3rk15
and all the files and the directory sl3rk15 disappeared. Would it be possible to figure out where these files went and how to recover them? I think I understand because the directory also is sl3rk initially that it did something that I had not wanted, but I cannot figure out what happened.
