haproxy plugin on check_mk

I'd really appreciate hints if anybody has one or two...
I cannot seem to get haproxy information on back end servers to show in Check_MK.
I can run hatop -s /var/run/haproxy.socket and this shows me information but this does not appear in Check_MK.
The haproxy plugin is in the /usr/lib/check_mk_agent/plugin folder and the check is running as Legacy Check_MK Agent over ssh.
