I have a webhosting server based on ISPConfig (Debian 9.9 LAMP) and I'm new to Postfix. When users send an email from PHP, the default address is webmaster@thedomain.com. This address can be overriden, but I want to disallow them to override the domain part.

The correct way seems to be to configure header_checks to check the uid in headers and correlate it with user's domains in database.

Another thing I found is Milter, which also looks like a good tool to achieve this, but it seems to be a bit overkill.

Has anyone configured something like this? What do you think is the correct way and why?
